Residing to the south of High Point resides the cities of both Trinity and Archdale, NC. These two cities are often thought of Archdale/Trinity because of their close proximity to each other.

As of the census of 2000 there were 9,014 people, 3,743 households, and 2,623 families residing in Archdale.

Archdale was previously known as Bush Hill and began as a predominantly Quaker settlement. The city received the name Archdale as a tribute to John Archdale, an early Quaker governor.

The population of Trinity, NC was 6,690 at the 2000 census. The city of Trinity was named after Trinity College, which later became Duke University.
